By posting on the site, you acknowledge that you have sufficient and appropriate legal authority to convey republication rights to the Portland Council.

How We Use Your Data

The Portland Council uses members’ information to facilitate and improve their use of this Intranet. We also use your information to communicate with you, and share site updates.

The personally identifying information we collect is used to verify your identity for purposes of granting access to this Intranet, and for protecting other members’ information. You may be able to control some of the information that other Intranet members see by adjusting your account settings. Contact the Intranet administrator for questions.

We do not disclose your personally identifying information to advertisers or to third parties outside of this Intranet. However, you should remember that the nature and risks inherent in the online environment make it impossible to guarantee against all unauthorized or inadvertent disclosures.

Intranet members must take care not to post personal financial or medical information of clients. Any resulting inadvertent disclosure of such information outside this Intranet could constitute a violation of federal or state law.

Controlling Access and Opting Out

You may control some of the communications you receive in your member profile and account settings. You can revoke your consent to the Council’s access and use of your personally identifying information at any time by contacting the Intranet administrator at the Council office. However, revoking such consent shall remove your access and participation in the Intranet, and the Council shall indefinitely retain rights to any information that you previously posted, shared, or submitted to other members.

Modifications to Data

We strive to maintain the accuracy of any personal data collected from you, and will use reasonable efforts to respond promptly to update our database when you tell us that your data in our database is not accurate. It is your responsibility to ensure that the data you provide is accurate, complete, and up-to-date.

The Council will retain the personally identifying data that you provide as long as we need it to provide Intranet service to you. If you ask us to delete this data, the Council will take action within 30 (thirty) days. Be aware, however, that there can be some latency in removing data from storage. We may also retain data necessary to resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or comply with legal process or obligations.

Breach of Data

If you suspect unauthorized access to your member account or member information, contact the Intranet administrator immediately.
